Dr. Corie Platt

Veterinarian

Dr. Platt was born and raised in Austin, on Lake Travis, where she spent most of her childhood on the water. She attended Lake Travis High School, where she developed a love for dancing, volleyball, and anything art-related.

She went on to earn her bachelor's degree in Animal Science from Texas A&M University before pursuing a second bachelor's degree in Nursing at Concordia University in Austin. Shortly after graduating with her nursing degree, she was accepted into a family nurse practitioner program while also receiving an acceptance letter from Oklahoma State University's College of Veterinary Medicine. While she enjoyed human medicine and helping people, her lifelong passion for animals ultimately led her to choose veterinary medicine.

Dr. Platt graduated from OSU in 2024 and began her career as an emergency veterinarian at Violet Crown. After about five months in emergency medicine, she realized she enjoyed client interactions, education, and forming long-term relationships with patients and their owners rather than primarily working in urgent situations. She then transitioned to general practice at Paz West, where she enjoys dermatology, ultrasound, preventative medicine, and puppy and kitten visits.

In her spare time, Dr. Platt loves being on the lake or near the water, exploring new restaurants, and traveling.
